VISUAL SEARCH SPEED

What does Odd One Out test?

Each grid asks you to compare many nearly matching symbols, notice one structural difference, and map its position to a response. It combines visual scanning with choice reaction speed.

The odd symbol changes shape as well as position, so finding it never depends on color alone. Standard mode counts every pick and timeout across exactly 15 rounds.

Balance speed with accuracy

Average and best times use correct responses only. Accuracy includes wrong selections and timeouts, so guessing quickly can lower your overall result.

Screen size, input latency, and viewing distance affect reaction time. Compare repeated runs on the same device and with the same input method.

QUESTIONS

Odd One Out reaction game FAQ

How is reaction time measured?

The timer starts when a new 4×4 symbol grid appears and stops when you select a cell. Average and best time include correct selections only.

What happens after a wrong selection?

In standard mode, the round advances and accuracy falls. In endless mode, the first wrong selection or timeout ends the run.

How does the keyboard mapping work?

Number keys 1 through 9 select cells 1 through 9. Q, W, E, R, T, Y, and U select cells 10 through 16. Every cell shows both its number and key.

Can I play on a phone or tablet?

Yes. The grid scales to small screens and every cell is a large touch target. Desktop players can also use a mouse or the displayed keys.
