WHICH VALUE IS GREATER?

Read the digits themselves. Physical font size is only a distraction.

Keyboard: A or ← for LEFT · L or → for RIGHT. Touch or mouse: tap a large side button.

HOW TO PLAY

Compare numerical value, not font size

  1. 01

Read both digits and decide which numerical value is greater.

  2. 02

Ignore the physical type size. A smaller-looking digit can still have the larger value.

  3. 03

Choose LEFT or RIGHT before the timing bar empties.

CONFLICT TASK

When value and appearance disagree

On congruent trials, the numerically larger digit is also printed larger. On incongruent trials, the smaller value is printed larger.

The rule never changes: answer from numerical value alone, even when the visual size suggests the other side.

ENTERTAINMENT ONLY

Read accuracy before speed

Standard mode balances left and right answers within 12 congruent and 12 incongruent trials. The conflict gap compares correct response times between conditions.

This recreational browser game is not a medical, psychological, or cognitive diagnostic assessment.

QUESTIONS

Numerical Stroop test FAQ

Should I choose the physically larger digit?

No. Always choose the greater numerical value. Physical font size is the distracting information.

What does the conflict gap mean?

It is your average correct response time on incongruent trials minus the average on congruent trials. It appears after both conditions have a correct answer.

How does endless mode get harder?

The answer window shortens and incongruent trials become more likely as your streak grows. One wrong answer or timeout ends the run.

Is this test diagnostic?

No. It is an entertainment and practice game; device, input method, attention, and practice all affect browser results.
