SAME SHAPE?

Rotation is allowed. A mirror image or changed block structure is different.

HOW TO PLAY

Rotate the figure in your mind

  1. 01

Study the reference figure on the left and the comparison figure on the right.

  2. 02

Imagine turning the reference by 90°, 180°, or 270°. Rotation never changes how its blocks connect.

  3. 03

Choose Same if rotation makes them match. Choose Different for a mirror image or altered structure.

SPATIAL REACTION

What does mental rotation test?

Mental rotation is the ability to imagine an object turning in space. This game combines that spatial comparison with a quick two-choice response.

Every figure is deliberately asymmetric. Different rounds use mirror images or changed structures that cannot become the reference through rotation alone.

Accuracy comes before speed

Standard mode always includes 10 Same and 10 Different answers. Accuracy counts every response and timeout; reaction averages use correct answers only.

QUESTIONS

Mental rotation game FAQ

What counts as the same shape?

Two figures are the same when turning one by a quarter-turn, half-turn, or three-quarter-turn makes every block line up. Sliding the whole figure does not change it.

Why are mirror images different?

A mirror reverses the structure. You cannot reproduce that reversal by simply rotating the original figure, so it is a different answer.

How does endless mode work?

It starts with a 3.5-second deadline. Each correct answer shortens the next deadline toward 0.8 seconds. One mistake or timeout ends the run.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. The figures and two large answer buttons resize for narrow screens. Desktop players can press S or D.
