READ THE CLOCK HAND

Use Arrow keys or WASD on a keyboard, or tap one of the four direction buttons.

The hand itself is the clue; color never changes the answer. The four bold clock marks also show each cardinal direction.

HOW TO PLAY

Turn the clock hand into a direction

  1. 01

Start the test and watch the pixel clock face for its single hand.

  2. 02

Match 12 o'clock to UP, 3 to RIGHT, 6 to DOWN, and 9 to LEFT.

  3. 03

Answer before the timing bar empties. Complete all 20 standard trials or protect one endless life.

DIRECTION MAPPING

What does the clock direction test challenge?

Each trial asks you to identify a cardinal direction from a familiar clock position, map it to one of four controls, and respond quickly.

The hand angle may wobble slightly, but every direction stays clearly closest to 12, 3, 6, or 9. Numerals and thick tick marks provide non-color cues.

Accuracy first, then reaction time

Standard mode contains exactly five trials for every direction. Accuracy includes correct answers, wrong answers, and timeouts; reaction statistics use correct trials only.

Input delay, display refresh rate, attention, and practice can affect results. Compare sessions played on the same device and input method.

QUESTIONS

Clock direction reaction test FAQ

Which clock positions match each direction?

12 o'clock is UP, 3 o'clock is RIGHT, 6 o'clock is DOWN, and 9 o'clock is LEFT.

Are the 20 standard trials balanced?

Yes. Standard mode has exactly five of each direction, shuffled for every run. Wrong answers and timeouts still advance the test.

How does endless mode get harder?

The response window starts at 2 seconds and shrinks toward 0.5 seconds as your streak grows. One wrong answer or timeout ends the run.

Why is the hand sometimes slightly off center?

A small angle wobble keeps the visual varied without changing the category. The hand always remains clearly closest to one cardinal clock mark.

Can I play on a phone?

Yes. Tap the four large direction buttons. Keyboard players can use Arrow keys or W, A, S, and D.

Is this a medical reaction test?

No. This is a recreational browser game and cannot diagnose a medical, visual, or neurological condition.
