LISTEN SAFELY

Use a comfortable volume

The game uses short synthesized tones at a moderate level. Set your device volume with the preview buttons before starting, and never raise it to an uncomfortable level.

Built-in speakers or wired headphones often give more consistent timing. Bluetooth devices may add audio delay, so compare results using the same setup.

Accuracy comes before speed

Standard accuracy includes every round, including wrong answers and timeouts. Reaction averages use correct answers only.

This is a recreational browser game, not a hearing or medical assessment. Audio hardware, input latency, attention, and practice all affect results.

QUESTIONS

High low pitch reaction test FAQ

What does this pitch reaction game test?

It tests how quickly you can hear a tone, classify it as high or low, and make a two-choice response.

How are high and low tones balanced?

A standard game contains eight of one pitch and seven of the other, chosen at random, then shuffled to reduce predictable patterns.

How does endless mode work?

The response window begins at 2.4 seconds and shrinks toward 0.5 seconds. Your first wrong answer or timeout ends the run.

Why might Bluetooth change my score?

Wireless audio can add variable delay between the browser producing a tone and you hearing it. Use the same audio device for fair personal comparisons.
